NEW BEGINNING, SAME DREAMS, DEEPER ROOTS

I've been here before; making new year's resolutions and promises I am not able to keep, committing to goals and challenges I am not yet ready and motivated enough to take on, starting projects I know I'm not able to see through to the finish line. This time around, I am fighting the urge to make the famous "new year, new me" headlines, carelessly free the wild dreamer in me. I want to do it differently.

Every blank page, new chapter, new beginning, has the capacity to unleash the dreamer in all of us. I have always taken advantage of that, but somehow failed to put in the work required to make the dreams come true. As a result, I have so many unfinished projects and they keep piling up.

New beginnings do not necessarily mean we have to abandon our past. Some new beginnings are just new opportunities, extended lifelines for us to carry over our unfulfilled dreams and find new ways to fulfill them. I am not leaving any of my dreams behind, there is nothing wrong with them.Delayed dreams are not signs of failure. Maybe the answers I am looking for are in this chapter and I would like to explore it and see what lies ahead before I give up.

Every dream has a chance of failing as long as you don't build it. The solution is not in the dream, but the dreamer. Learn to be:

  1. Intentional in your decision making.

  2. Consistent in building your dreams

  3. Kinder to yourself

  4. Patient.

Every good thing takes time. Your dreams will grow. Give them time to mature and sink their roots deeper before you pluck them out.

New beginning, same dreams, deeper roots!
